Our 20th Annual Crescent Hill Garden Tour is Saturday, June 7, 2014.
On Saturday, June 7, from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Crescent Hill will celebrate its 20th anniversary garden tour with unique and colorful gardens in this historic neighborhood. The tour will feature creative gardening in small spaces, from organic gardens to shade gardens, and give visitors innovative ideas to try in their own outdoor space.
To celebrate this milestone, special events have been planned the day of the garden tour:
- 10:00 a.m.: Ginkgo Tree discussion by Peterson-Dumesnil House Board member and amateur horticulturalist Richard Humke, on the history of one of the oldest trees in Crescent Hill
- 11:00 a.m.: Four Seasons at Hidden Hill presentation by Bob Hill, former Courier-Journal columnist and owner of Hidden Hill Nursery, on how to achieve fun, whimsy and color in your garden every day of the year
- 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.: Historic Peterson-Dumesnil home tours throughout the day
The special events are free of charge and will take place at the Peterson-Dumesnil House, 301 South Peterson Avenue. Visitors will enjoy light refreshments and the music of the Louisville Mandolin Orchestra on the porch.
Tickets are still only $10 – the same price they were for Crescent Hill’s first garden tour in 1994!
Tickets are available the day of the tour at the Peterson-Dumesnil House, 301 South Peterson Avenue, where the tour begins. Advance tickets are available at St. Matthews Feed & Seed (225 Chenoweth Lane) and Fresh Start Growers Supply (1007 East Jefferson Street).
